These flash forwards are presented in the order that they were viewed on the show. In parenthesis are numbers corresponding to the order that they flash forwards would appear chronologically for Jack’s life off the island.
Episode 3.22: Through the Looking Glass
(11) Jack drives down the road, listening to loud music. He pulls to the side of the road. He walks into a funeral home and asks if the funeral is over. There was no funeral, just a viewing. Nobody came. Jack takes a pill from a bottle and walks out.
(12) Jack unlocks a medical cabinet and takes some Oxycodone. As he goes to leave he knocks some files over. Dr. Hamill enters and says she’s been trying to get in touch with him. She says they need to talk about the woman that he saved on the bridge. Jack says that she knows nothing about him. “Do you have any idea what I’ve been through?” She asks how much he’s had to drink today. Jack says that if he’s drunker than his father, she can fire him.
(13) Jack sits in his messy apartment and dials Kate. He tells her not to hang up and asks to meet at the airport. He drives there and waits. Kate climbs in the passenger’s side. He tells her that he’s been flying a lot from Los Angeles to Tokyo or Singapore or Sydney. He wants it to crash so that he can get back to the Island. He says they made a mistake. Kate says she has to go and she tells him she has to leave. She gets in her car and drives off.
Episode 4.01: The Beginning of the End
(4) Hurley shoots baskets in the empty gym. Jack enters and they begin playing HORSE. Hurley asks why he is there and Jack says that he came to check on him. “To see if I was going to tell,” Hurley replies. Hurley says that he is sorry that he went with Locke. “I should have stayed with you,” he says. Jack says that it’s water under the bridge. Hurley continues, saying that they didn’t do the right thing. He thinks that the Island wants them to come back and it’s going to do everything it can. Jack leaves.
Episode 4.04: Eggtown
(5) Jack testifies during Kate’s trial. He says that there were only eight people who survived the crash and two of those died. He says he is not in love with her.
(6) After the trial Jack approaches Kate and says that he really does lover. He doesn’t want to come back to the house and Kate thinks it is because of Aaron.
Episode 4.10: Something Nice Back Home
(7) Jack and Kate are living together. Jack reads Aaron a book but he is concerned about being a good father. Jack is also back to working as a surgeon.
(8) Jack visits Hurley in the institution. Hurley says that he has a message from Charlie, “You’re not supposed to raise him.” Jack wonders if he means Aaron. Hurley tells Jack that he will be visited “soon”.
(9) Jack proposes to Kate and she says yes. Jack is later working in the hospital when he sees his father. Jack is startled by another doctor and he asks her for a prescription.
(10) Jack goes home and Kate is on the phone. She says it’s a new friend but Jack is suspicious. Jack comes home a few days later and Kate is gone. She comes back and Jack has been drinking. He asks where she was. Kate tried to insist that Jack trust her, but he does not, and he loses control when she says she did something for Sawyer. Kate tells him to get him and she doesn’t want this around her son. Jack yells at her and says it’s not her son. Kate tells him to get out.
Episode 4.12: There’s No Place Like Home
(1) Ms. Decker, a representative for Oceanic Airways, comes into the cargo area where the Oceanic Six sit. Jack sits there looking like he’s dozing. Ms. Decker tells them that there will be press there when they land. Jack tells them to remember their story. The plane lands. Jack hugs his mother.
(2) The Oceanic Six sit in front of microphones as they are interviewed from the press about their location and what happened. Jack says that it all happened fast. A group of them got to the emergency door after the crash and got out, before it went down. They floated on the cushions and life jackets before the current took them in. By then there were only eight left.
(3) Over 6 months after their rescue, Jack holds a wake for his father. After the wake, Carole Littleton comes up to Jack and tells him that her daughter, Claire, was on Jack’s plane. She tells him that she was his half-sister. After she walks away he looks at Kate, holding Aaron, with a speechless look.
Episode 4.12 (Part 2 and 3): There’s No Place Like Home
(14) Kate stops the car and drives back to Jack. She gets out and yells at him. She begins crying and says that she’s spent the last three years trying to forget what happened on the day they left. How dare he ask her to go back. She then drives off again.
(15) Jack breaks into a funeral parlor and opens the coffin. Ben appears out of the shadows. He asks if Jeremy Bentham had approached him and asked what he said. Jack says that after they left the island some very bad things happened, and that they had to go back. Ben tells Jack that the Island won’t let him come alone. “All of you have to go back.” Ben tells Jack that he has some ideas, but that they’re also going to have to bring “him too” and he nods at Locke in the casket.
