These flash forwards are presented in the order that they were viewed on the show. In parenthesis are numbers corresponding to the order that they flash forwards would appear chronologically for Sayid’s life off the island.

Episode 4.03: The Economist
(5) Sayid is playing golf when a man drives over in a golf cart. They chat and wager on the next shot. Sayid mentions that he has a large settlement from a plane crash. The man begins to look worried. Sayid shoots him, a Mr. Avaleen. He then grabs his bags and leaves.

(6) Later, Sayid is in a café in Germany. A woman sits down next to him. Her name is Elsa. They begin chatting. Sayid says he is a head hunger, a corporate recruiter. Elsa talks about her boss, an economist. They agree to meet for dinner later. Sayid calls someone and says he made contact.

(7) At a later time Elsa and Sayid are dating and have been for several weeks. Elsa says she is in love. Sayid begins to tell her his secret when her pager goes off. Sayid looks agitated and tries to tell her to leave Berlin. She comes out of the bathroom and shoots him. He is badly injured but still alive. She picks up the phone and speaks to someone, saying that he won’t give up the name of his boss now. Sayid breaks the mirror to get her attention. She comes out and he shoots her.

(8) Sayid is in a room while a man looks at his wound. We realize the man is Ben. Ben says he was stupid to care for her. “These people don’t deserve your sympathies. Need I remind you what they did the last time you thought with your heart instead of your gun?” Sayid says that Ben used it to recruit him into killing. Ben says, “You want to protect your friends or not, Sayid? I have another name for you.”

Episode 4.09: The Shape of Things to Come
(4) In 2005, Ben finds Sayid in Iraq. Nadia has died, killed by an assassin. Ben tells Sayid that it the man’s name is Ishmael Bakir, supposedly sent by Charles Widmore. Sayid later stumbles upon Bakir holding Ben at gunpoint. Sayid begins shooting Bakir, killing him and continuing to shoot even after the ammunition is gone. He turns to Ben and asks who else he has to kill, because they took his love away. Ben tells Sayid he’ll keep in touch, and walks away, smiling.

Episode 4.12: There’s No Place Like Home
(1) Ms. Decker, a representative for Oceanic Airways, comes into the cargo area where the Oceanic Six sit. Sayid is sitting there, looking somber. Ms. Decker tells them that there will be press there when they land. Jack tells them to remember the story they need to tell. The plane lands. Hurley runs out first and kisses his mom. He then grabs Sayid and introduces him to his mother, Carmen, who hugs and kisses Sayid.

(2) The Oceanic Six sit in front of microphones as they are interviewed from the press about their location and what happened. A woman asks Sayid, “Mr Jarrah, given the amazing circumstances surrounding the survival of you six, is it possible there are any other survivors of the crash yet to be discovered?” He replies, “No. Absolutely not.” Ms. Decker approaches Sayid and says, “Mr. Jarrah, there’s a woman outside. She says she knows you, but she’s not on the list of family members. Her name’s Noor Abed Jazeem.” Sayid looks startled. He goes outside and hugs and kisses Nadia.

(3) Hurley has a surprise party for his birthday. Kate and Aaron are there, as are Sayid and Nadia. Jack is running late.

Episode 4.12 (Part 2 and 3): There’s No Place Like Home
(9) Outside Santa Rosa Mental Institute, Sayid knocks on a car window and asks the man inside for the time. Sayid then shoots him. He sneaks inside the institution and goes to Hurley’s room. He wants Hurley to come with him to somewhere safe. He tells Hurley that the circumstances have changed, that Bentham is dead.

Hurley asks what happened. Sayid says that they say it was suicide. Hurley asks if they are going back but Sayid says they are just going somewhere safe.
